Hey, I fixed the SERIESUNIQUEIDX bug. It's in 0.54. I just ran into it myself.

This version seems to fx both my issues. I upgradead and reinitalized my database, and am currently rescanning my tv shows.

However, during the rescan, I am occasionally presented with this message:

The statement was aborted because it would have caused a duplicate key value in a unique or primary key constraint or unique index identified by 'SERIESUNIQUEIDX' defined on 'SERIESTOGENRE'.

Not a huge deal though as scanning continues after I click okay. It only does it once per series, and only on some series, not all.

The readme states the the number has not been upped. Always glance at least at the readme.

There is version 0.53 for download but I have set it so it does not alert everyone. The problem with your show was that Arjuna (never tested Arjuna but some show that did not exist) is rated '10.0'. I did not know that anything could be rated > 9.9. So an internal database field had to be widened. Unfortunately it's not a character field and you cannot simply ALTER the database. I was really not big on writing some more extensive code for catering to this situation for even I will not apply the fix (i.e. Reinitialize everything). I doubt there are many shows out there (nor do I believe 10.0 is a legitimate rating). However, for you it will solve your problem.

Let me know if there are any other issues.

0.52x Still getting the SQL errors on Arjuna....

...and still hangs when it can't find a matching series.

dunno if you updated the version number to .52x inside MR or not, but it still shows just .52even deleted the installation directory, reinstalled, and re-initialized the db.

I uploaded 0.52x (I did not increase the official version number). It fixes the 'series not found' issue. I will have a look at thetvdb to find out what the situation with the API is. I have some shows with special characters myself. Have at it and let me know.

Forgot - let me know whether this addresses your SQL errors, too. It should.

Yes, I have already fixed the 'Series not found' issue. You couldn't see it from the UI but it had taken internally an exception and seemed to hang.

I think the PDF outlines a good way of approaching the whole series naming business - at least the way that I do it.

I want to address one other issue before posting it. I won't up the version number so people don't have to scramble back as the two bugs it fixes are not prominent enough. I will post an announcement in the announcement thread and clearly indicate it in the Downloads section.

The itunes libarary situation ws my own damn fault, but easily fixable. I just expected MR to act the same with tv shows as it does with movies, by putting hte nfo files parallel to them.

I'll look forward to the test version. Will this address the issue for series that arent found as well?

The structure that it will create is outlined in detail in both the readme2 and the doc. I am sorry you were taken by surprise but I can do no more than put it into two documents. I understand people do not read these things but that is really nothing I can do about it. I put a fair amount of time into documentation (something nobody else does). I''d say RTFM.

The Umlauts are not really MR's problems and at present I don't think I can change anything about it - thetvdb.com's API v. 1 does not handle special characters correctly. Annoying but the only source of comprehensive tv info at present. Supposedly API v. 2 does not have this issue and I will switch to it once it stabilizes.

I will look into your show tonight and probably put out a test version for you to verify.

My structure was, simply, /TV Shows/Arjuna/Arjuna - S1E1 - The Drop of Time.mp4

MediaReader has since moved and renamed everything (causing havoc in my iTunes library, btw :P) to

/TV Shows/Arjuna/Arjuna/Season 1/Arjuna - S1E1 - The Drop of Time.mp4

MR also seems to have issues with non-english characters like umlauts and such. These characters are not recreated correctly, changing ö into ö and ä into ä.

For an example, try the TV series, Kröd Mändoon and the flaming Sword of Fire.

Did you establish a series structure for Arjuna? If not - what do the files look like (names) and position in the directory tree so I can reproduce.

I have never had a series it could not find so there may very well be an issue. It's too late for my worn out mind so I'll have to look it up tomorrow.

Thanks for being patient.

Im seeing the following error messages while trying to process the tv series "Arjuna"

INSERT on table 'EPISODE' caused a violation of foreign key constraint 'EPISODEFOREIGN' for key (80113).  The statement has been rolled back.

and

INSERT on table 'BANNER' caused a violation of foreign key constraint 'BANNERFOREIGN' for key (80113).  The statement has been rolled back.

also, it seems that MediaReader hangs when it can't find a match for a tv series.

For example, I have a tv series "Fushigi Yugi" and Media reader just simply hangs on it. The series doesnt exist in the tvdb.
